Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of costbycity.ca (the "Site"), operated by LeadSync Analytics Inc., Calgary, Alberta ("we", "us"). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.
1. Use of the Site and cost estimates
The Site publishes general cost ranges for home projects, such as roof replacement, in Canadian cities. These ranges are estimates compiled from published sources and our own modelling. They are for general information only. They are not quotes, offers or guarantees of any price. Actual costs depend on your home, materials, contractor, timing, permits and other factors. Always get written quotes from qualified contractors before making decisions.
2. No professional advice
Nothing on the Site is professional, engineering, legal, financial, insurance or building-code advice. Check permit and code requirements with your municipality, and rely on licensed professionals for your project.
3. Quote requests and contractors
When you submit the quote form, we review your request first and may refer it to independent local contractors. Contractors are not our employees or agents. We do not perform, supervise or guarantee their work, pricing, licensing, insurance or conduct. Any agreement you make with a contractor is between you and that contractor. How we handle your information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- submit false, misleading or someone else's information;
- use the Site for spam, unlawful purposes or to harass anyone;
- scrape, copy or republish Site content in bulk, or use automated tools to collect data, without our written permission;
- interfere with the Site's security or operation, or try to access systems you aren't authorized to use.
We may block access or remove submissions that break these rules.
5. Intellectual property
The Site's content, including text, cost tables, data compilations, design, graphics and the Cost by City name, belongs to LeadSync Analytics Inc. or its licensors and is protected by Canadian copyright and trademark law. You may view and share individual pages for personal, non-commercial use with a link back to the Site. Any other use needs our written permission.
6. Third-party links
The Site links to third-party websites, including the sources for our cost data. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content, accuracy or privacy practices. Visiting them is at your own risk.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
The Site is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, about the accuracy, completeness or timeliness of the content, or that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, LeadSync Analytics Inc. and its directors, employees and partners are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits or savings, arising from your use of the Site, reliance on its estimates, or dealings with any contractor. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Site is limited to CA$100. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under applicable consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.
9. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your misuse of the Site or breach of these Terms.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date shows the latest version. Continuing to use the Site after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. You agree that the courts of Alberta have jurisdiction, except where your local consumer protection law gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.
